On May 23, in Uralsk, the Association of Oil Service Companies participated in the meeting on the KEP-1 project for the Karachaganak field.

The meeting was attended by different department leaders of the field operator (Karachaganak Petroleum Operating), the PSA management, etc.

During the meeting, the KEP-1 project information, general updated information, information on project design and procurement, as well as the local content strategy was presented.

The KEP-1 project will implement a two-stage approach to the KEP-1A (60% of the project) which will be carried out from 2020 to 2023 and the KEP-1B (40% of the project) which will be carried out from 2023 to 2025. The expected waiting period between the KEP-1A and KEP-1B launch availability will be 24 months.

KEP-1A work scope:

- 6 production wells

- Collection system: main pipelines, flowlines and remote manifold station

- 5 injection wells

- Injection system: main pipelines (+6th MP), flowlines and remote stop valve stations

- Reinjection compressor site

- Modification of the existing production up to the operating facilities for liquid hydrocarbons processing and gas treatment.

- Auxiliary equipment (including flare facility)

KEP-1B works scope:

- 6 production wells

- Collection system: main pipeline and flowlines

- 4 injection wells

- Injection system: main pipelines (+6th MP), flowlines and remote stop valve stations

- Reinjection compressor site

- New gas dehydration plant (DRIZO technology).
