On November 25, 2014 Maersk Oil Kazakhstan Company hosted the Open Day Event for the existing and potential contractors and producers. The procurement plans for 2015 were presented by the management of the Company at this event.
Zhan Nurbekov, the Contract Agency Director, expressed his gratitude for organizing this event hosted the second time by Maersk Oil Kazakhstan. Currently, the Dunga oilfield which is operated by Maersk Oil Kazakhstan is executing its $1 bn worth expansion project.
The management of KazService Association recommended to provide the access to the local companies to FEED engineering company in order to include Kazakh goods and services in FEED solutions. Also KazService Association recommended Maersk Oil Kazakhstan to apply the early tenders procedures recently introduced by Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V. and to establish the local content department within the Company.
Additionally, the participation of the Kazakh construction companies at the construction phase of Dunga oilfield expansion has been discussed. The KazService representative recommended Maersk Oil Kazakhstan to sign the contracts with both local companies and joint ventures within the construction stage, without attracting the foreign construction companies.
After the presentations of scope of work and plans made by the different departments of Maersk Oil Kazakhstan, the individual meetings between the representatives of the oil company and the local companies were held. More than 15 members of KazService Association took part at this event.
