According to with the Law "On Public Councils" and the Standard Regulations of the Public Council, for the period from 9 to 19 February 2016 a competition for membership in the Public Council of the Ministry of Energy was held. 27 applications forms from non-profit organizations and individuals were presented for participation in the Public Council of the Ministry of Energy.
By the open voting 18 members of non-profit organizations and citizens, as well as the 9 members of the public body were elected. The Chairman of Association – Kudaibergen Almas become one of the members of Public Council.
According to 2nd paragraph of 3rd Article of the Law "On Public Councils' Public councils objectives are:
1) Representation of civil society interests and consideration of public opinion in the discussion and decision-making at the national and local levels;
2) The development of interaction of central and local executive bodies and local authorities with civil society;
3) Organization of public control and transparency of activities of central and local executive bodies and local self-government.
Government bodies have to consider the recommendations of public councils, make the decisions provided by the legislation and give motivated answers.
